When can I start?
You can start at any time. You will need to pay and fill out an enrolment form before you start. There is also a enrolment fee of $200.
What will I study?
This course places strong emphasis on the development of all four macro skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. It also recognises the importance of grammar, a wide vocabulary and natural pronounciation in improving a student's communicative ability. Application of these skills will be applied in the afternoon classes in a variety of contexts.
Level Descriptors
Our curriculum includes five levels. A full-time student would normally be expected to complete a level in the time shown. However students are encouraged to work at their own pace so may progress through a level at a faster or slower pace.
CSMC L1 - Beginner (6 - 12 weeks)
Conveys and understands only general meaning in very familiar situations. Frequent breakdown in communication occur.
CSMC L2 - Elementary (12 weeks)
Basic competence is limited to familiar situation. Has a frequent problem in understanding and expression. Is not able to use complex language.
CSMC L3 - Pre-Intermediate (12 weeks)
Has partial command of the language, coping with overall meaning in most situations, but is likely to make many mistakes. Should be able to handle basic communication in own field.
CSMC L4 - Intermediate (12 weeks)
Has generally effective command of the language despite inaccuracies and misunderstandings in some situations. Generally handles complex language well and understands detailed reasoning.
CSMC L5 - Upper Intermediate (12 weeks)
Has operational command of the language, though wih occasional inaccuracies and misunderstandings in some situations. Generally handles complex language well and understands detailed reasoning.
