You can start at any time. You will need to pay and fill out an enroment form before you start.
Entry requirements The entry criterion for this course is that you must be 18 years of age and over. There is neither English nor golfing requirements
What will I study? This course contains three strands of increasing difficulty covering golf equipment, setup, swing, short game, rules and etiquette, chipping, putting bunker shots and other practical aspects of the game of golf. You will need to show improvement in your game to progress through the strands. You will also study English and follow a curriculum which focuses on the development of all four macro skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Golf Successful students at stand III will be able to: Identify various faults in golf and understand the factors causing them. Identify various errors in the short game and understand the factors causing them as well as correcting them. Hit a ball consistently to the intended target using a five iron and a three wood, achieving improved distance; Demonstrate chipping, putting, and bunker shots with a reasonable degree of success. Demonstrate shots in a number of different types of rough. Shape the shots in relation to obstacles and hazards. Perform difficult trouble-shots. Hit a ball consistently to the inteded target using a driver. Understand and explain rules and course etiquette.
English Studies On successful completion, you will be competent at the level you are placed. You will be able to use English with icreasing confidence. At the lower level, you will be able to use basic forms of texts and conversation. At the upper levels complex language will be generally handled well, some detailed reasoning will be understood, and your grammar will be above reasonable standard. At the Upper Intermediate level, you will be encouraged to sit an IELTS/TOEIC test to gain a internationally recognised English exam mark.
